The Epson ColorWorks CW-C8000e, introduced in 2024, is a true production machine for full-color labels. The Epson CW-C8000e combines a very high production speed of 300mm per second with high print quality (600×1200 DPI) and very user-friendly operation. In addition, color management with the Epson CW-C8000e becomes a piece of cake, through so-called ICM profiles the user is able to optimize the desired print colors better than ever before. The Epson CW-C8000e is also available in 2 editions, a MK and a BK edition. Although technically completely identical and even the Cyan, Magenta and Yellow inks are identical, the choice between these 2 versions is a very important consideration in the process of purchasing the printer. The difference between the 2 versions is solely in the supplied black ink bag. Broadly speaking, a BK variant can print on all inkjet-coated materials, but this variant will not be able to produce very dark tones and deep blacks on matte materials. The MK edition, on the other hand, can print very deep black and very dark shades with razor-sharp details on matte materials. However, the MK edition cannot print (properly) on glossy materials because the black pigment parts are insufficiently able to absorb into a glossy inkjet coating.

The Epson CW-C8000e printers have been developed to succeed the Epson TM-C7500 printers. Epson has invested a lot of time in improving and optimizing the user-friendliness of the printer. First of all, the control, in addition to the usual support for Windows OS, SAP integration and, to a lesser extent, Linux drivers, the Epson ColorWorks C8000e also has support for MacOS. In addition, the Epson ColorWorks CW-C8000e, like the other series of current generations, is capable of processing print jobs in ZPL II (emulation) or fully controlling and controlling them via ESC/Label from Epson.
The display has been moved to the side and offers a very simple and user-friendly menu with which the printer can be set up, adjusted and operated very quickly and easily. Access for loading and changing media has been improved and the media path is now fully accessible by opening the printer system. This makes regular maintenance (i.e. keeping the media path clean) easy, which will ensure a longer lifespan.
The Epson CW-C8000e printers are equipped with so-called ink pouches (or the ink is in special bags). These pouches have a capacity of no less than 480ml. With this large capacity, the number of times when the ink needs to be changed is greatly reduced. In addition, the use of these special ink pouches is a major ecological advantage because their production requires up to 75% fewer raw materials.
