Organizers of trade fairs, conferences and other B2B events are seeing an increasing demand for printing badges in colour. Printing visitor badges in color yourself has many advantages, especially at trade fairs where the number of visitors and the names of those present are not always known in advance. Events that benefit from the use of clear recognition of the type of visitor, for example for backstage access, are also increasingly using color badge printing.
The starter set “Exhibition visitor badges ExpoBadge 260-C4000” has been put together to get started immediately and quickly with the live printing of visitor badges in high quality and speed. The badge size of the ExpoBadge 260S is 96 x 82 mm and is therefore large enough to clearly show visitor information. For example, the name can be printed large enough to be readable at a slightly greater distance, while still leaving room for clear color coding.
Printing live event badges for exhibition access, parties and conferences ensures short queues, this is well known. No more searching in a large box of pre-printed badges, but printing on demand at check-in. However, live printing of visitor badges is often still done in black and white and in some cases with pre-printed badges for color. The disadvantage of pre-printed badges? The amount of waste, nobody wants an event with pre-printed color badges and then come up short, on average about 20% of the pre-printed badges are sent to the waste bin.
By using the butterfly badges from ExpoBadge and the Epson CW-C4000 MK badge color printer, the visitor badges can be printed in color quickly and easily. In addition to less waste, this achieves many other benefits, such as increased flexibility in designs per visitor or per visitor type, or perhaps filling several conference rooms at the same time with 1 queue, with each room having its own badge design. Replacing existing thermal printers has become even easier with the arrival of the Epson Cw-C4000 printers. These printers contain ESC/Label which means that these printers also understand and can process ZPL printer language. This makes a transition from old to new ways of badge printing even easier than ever.
The Epson ColorWorks CW-C4000, MK version, is a desktop format inkjet color label printer. The print resolution of this printer is no less than 1200 x 1200 dpi, with which the most beautiful prints can be made. The printer also offers support for the use of ICM color profiles with which the prints are even more accurate in terms of color, no more discussion about the colors of the logos. The printing speed also leaves nothing to be desired with a maximum of 100 mm per second, the badge is printed within 3 seconds.
Where the earlier color label printers could only be controlled via Windows OS, the Epson CW-C4000 is much more widely supported. For example, standard drivers are available for Mac OS and Linux, for example, and a software development kit (SDK) can be used in consultation to create your own software with which the printer can also be controlled via iOS, Android and many other operating systems.
Optionally, this printer can also be equipped with a special WiFi dongle with which the printer can be controlled both via a network and via a WiFi direct protocol.
