Godex supplies the free software GoLabel with all label printers, a very powerful and extensive label printing software package that can only be used with the Godex printers.
A Godex RT863i is a very reliable and very powerful label printer with an extra high resolution for labels with complex barcodes and very small text. The Godex RT863i is the successor to the RT860i and offers space for a transfer ribbon of 300 meters where its predecessor only offered space for a ribbon of 74 meters.
The Godex RT863i is a barcode label printer with an extra high print resolution of no less than 600 DPI. A standard barcode label printer works with a resolution of 300 DPI, so the Godex RT863i doubles the resolution. This allows the Godex RT863i to print the most complex 1D and 2D barcodes and even very small text remains legible.
As can be expected from Godex, the Godex RT863i also scores well on quality and reliability. The use of high-quality materials makes the Godex RT863i a very reliable label printer. Where the predecessor, the Godex RT860i, only offered space for a transfer ribbon of 74 meters in length, the RT863i offers space for a ribbon of 300 meters. In addition, the Godex RT863i offers a slightly larger screen compared to the other desktop label printers from the RT series. The Godex RT863i belongs to the desktop RT series from Godex which consists of a wide range of models that differ in terms of print width, print resolution and whether or not a user interface (display) is present. In addition, there are also models available with WiFi.
The RT863i of the Godex RT series is a barcode printer with a unique print resolution of 600 DPI. The “i” in the type number stands for “interface” by which Godex refers to the printer’s display. Unlike the other desktop models of the Godex RT series, the RT863i is not available without a display. The Godex RT863i prints both Thermal Direct printer media and Thermal Transfer media using a Transfer ribbon (TT ribbons). The Godex RT863i uses TT ribbons with a core diameter of 1 inch (25.4 mm) and a length of 300 m (on average sufficient for 4 label rolls). The width of the ribbons that the Godex RT863i can process is a minimum of 30 mm and a maximum of 110 mm.
Godex proves with a standard 3-year warranty that the label printers are of high quality. The 6-month printhead warranty does not change this and is related to usage variations that can greatly affect the printhead life. Using Godex label printers has been made easier by the free but very powerful label designer software GoLabel.
The Godex RT863i can function as a Thermal Direct and as a Thermal Transfer label printer. The maximum width of the printer media rolls is 118 mm.
