But as long as the environment and the printer itself are kept dust-free, the printer will do the rest itself. So no need to replace print heads or other time-consuming activities, but print labels carefree.

For the desktop printers, a warranty based on RTB, or return to base, is standard.
This means that the printer must be returned if repair is necessary. The advantage is that this way of handling warranty is cost efficient. That is why the RTB service is also the standard for Epson’s desktop label printers.
The cost for this service is proportional to the price of the printer itself. In addition, this printer can also be sent with standard parcel services.
For the Epson label printers that are difficult to send, Epson offers the OS guarantee, or Onsite Service.
In this case, an Epson service technician will visit during the warranty period to install and repair the Epson label printer. If repair on location is not possible, in most cases the printer will be exchanged for a loaner printer. For Epson’s C7500 models, changing is even standard because they can almost never be repaired on site.
By exchanging the Epson printers, this warranty is also referred to as the “Onsite Swap”.
How do you use the warranty if the Epson label printer refuses?
For Businesslabels customers, this means calling first. Together with our customers we go through the possible causes that can be solved ourselves. Usually it turns out that a setting is incorrect or a piece of paper is stuck.
Epson also requires on-site service to preclude user errors.
If this does not solve the problems, the warranty application should be reported to Epson. We provide this notification for our customers. Epson will then process it according to the applicable conditions.
Many Epson label printers are used in critical business processes. In those cases, the printers standstill is more than annoying.
Epson offers the Epson Coverplus packages with which the warranty period can be extended up to 5 years. With every printer you can choose the RTB or OS service.
Always keep in mind the time it takes to get from report to repaired printer. Is downtime of 2 working days unacceptable? Then consider purchasing a backup printer to avoid any downtime.

Take into account the number of labels that need to be printed, the size of the labels and how quickly they must be ready, calculated from the moment the print is printed.
But also take into account the number of different label sizes. For example, 3 printers for 3 label formats can work faster than 1 very fast printer where the label roll has to be changed every time.
Not every application has the same requirements for print resolution and color.
Where a practical label is somewhat simpler and therefore less demanding in print resolution, the requirement for a product label that comes on the store shelves is a lot higher.
As a result, almost any model can be chosen for a practical label. Even the entry-level model with the highest speed can often suffice here.
Traditionally, label printers and their drivers have been based on Windows.
Because label printers are mainly used and controlled via Windows, the focus for drivers is also on Windows. The same goes for many automation software for labels such as Nicelabel.
However, color label printers such as those from Epson also come into contact with graphic departments. These often use an Apple product such as a Macbook.
Not all Epson label printers are (fully) provided with drivers for iOS and MacOS.
There are always a number of specific preferences that can be filled in better with one printer than with another.
For example, a number of Epson label printers are perfectly capable of cutting any label and, for example, processing endless label rolls. Some other printers can’t do that.
The same applies to control and operation by external equipment. The Epson label printers can be controlled via the I/O port on a number of models.

How big should the labels be? And do you work with 1 label format or several?
Simple questions but very important. It is of course annoying if you have an Epson label printer that can print a maximum of 108 mm wide while you want to print a label of 210 mm wide.
Therefore, consider carefully which label formats you expect to use now and in the future.
Also take into account the number of label formats, if you use multiple label formats this can sometimes lead to a different choice than in the case of 1 fixed label format.
What do you do with the label after it comes out of the Epson label printer?
Many labels are processed by hand. Processing by hand is especially common in SMEs. In this case, working with a rewinder is often a solution for simple processing.
But also processing with an applicator is possible. In addition, there are Epson label printers with a peeler, ideal for direct processing in packaging departments.
There can be several reasons to choose multiple Epson label printers.
In a number of cases, for example, it may be better to give each department its own label printer instead of 1 fast printer in a central location. Also, several small label printers together can be faster than 1 industrial one. A mid-range Epson label printer per label format is faster than 1 industrial label printer with which 3 label formats have to be printed.
Multiple label printers do not necessarily have to be more expensive, but can improve efficiency.
Epson understands the importance of correct and vibrant colors on a label like no other.
Not every application requires the same color precision. For example, a blue dot on a label for logistics application is quickly good. However, when it comes to paint labels, the blue must have the correct shade of blue.
It is therefore important to determine how important it is to print the right colors. Sample prints are always best for this, and we like to make them at Businesslabels.
Matte printer media or glossy printer media. Or would you rather have both? Sometimes it seems like an easy choice, but it sometimes has a (major) influence on the printer choice. That is why this choice must usually already be clear. The reason for this is the different models and versions of the Epson printers that make the label printer more or less suitable for certain printer media types. Because a glossy inkjet coating has a higher density, pigment ink has more trouble absorbing quickly and well into the coating than with a matte media. Epson therefore has a model for many label printers that is adapted for the use of a specific media type.
With the Epson C7500 models, the print speed in particular is a potential problem with glossy printer media.
Due to the combination of the high speed and the relatively high density of glossy inkjet coatings, there is a risk of drying too slowly. When printing on glossy printer media with the standard Epson C7500, the drying is not fast enough to prevent streaks.
The Epson C7500G is therefore available for glossy media. This is less suitable for matte media because of the lower color yield. Although the printer can print fine on matte media, the color is clearly a bit paler than the standard Epson C7500.
With the Epson C6000 series you will find the standard version and the MK variants.
The standard variants are suitable for all printer media types. These Epson label printers can produce the most beautiful labels on both matte and glossy materials. Nevertheless, Epson has introduced the MK variant of the C6000 printers.
The Epson C6000 MK label printers are capable of producing deep blacks and dark details on matte printer media. However, the larger black pigment areas are less or not suitable for glossy inkjet coatings. The C6000 MK models are therefore really only for matter printer media.
So choose carefully (of course 1 of both is always allowed).
For the application of color label printers in the chemical industry it is standard to use matte printer media.
Only matte printer media is able to withstand chemicals. Specific matte plastic inkjet materials such as the DIA700 Matt PE provide labels with the various Epson label printers that meet the BS5609 standard.
This is of great importance for various CLP and GHS label solutions.
With the Epson C7500 label printers, this automatically means the choices for the matte version. With the Epson label printers of the C6000 series, you can choose both the standard variant and the MK variant for matte media.
So many choices, so many questions.
